Community and Connection
PCAP artists are able to create art thanks to the support of their communities inside prison and beyond the walls. These communities foster connection, creativity, and support for artists to express themselves and explore something new. These statements demonstrate the pivotal role of community for many incarcerated artists. They discuss how art making helps them connect with others and how their communities have encouraged them and helped them make artistic practice an integral part of their lives.
