Creativity and Inspiration
Creating art can free the mind from expectations we place on ourselves and the limitations imposed upon us. Creativity is especially liberating for incarcerated artists who have very little control over the conditions of their daily lives. Imagination, innovation, and creativity allow artists to exercise their agency and envision the world as they wish to see it. These statements attest to the power of creativity inside prison.
