Incarceration

It is important for incarcerated artists to let those of us in the free world know what prison looks like and feels like. It is important for them to visualize their feelings: claustrophobia, anger, regret, growth, reflection. Images about incarceration also make a statement about our justice system, convey the tragedy of long sentences, and show how some incarcerated people find paths to inner peace and redemption.
